Liberty, Freedom and Grace

Horses running at liberty, their mane and tails weightless in the air, the definition in their muscles pronounced and beautifully sculpted, the sound of their hoofs coming in contact with Earth beats like a beautiful drum...it is probably my favorite sound in the world. It inspires me, it makes me humble to have these magnificent creatures in my presence.

It started that way for me 4 1/2 years ago when I picked up my camera and went out to take some quick shots of the snow coming down over the Cascades. Indy and Rain were in their pasture and their heads popped up, for a moment I thought I startled them but they were just in a playful mood and they came running and bucking and prancing towards me, I instinctively placed the camera over my eye and began capturing the elegance these massive animals displayed as they came towards me, I was in awe, I was hooked!

It is from that moment that I realized that is how I was going to capture the beauty of a horse...is in it's natural state, at play and being free,

This is why I love capturing and sharing the gift of equus!
